About SuperGood Foundation
(the creator of Furry Felons)
My name is Eric Calisto, and I am the President of SuperGood Co. SuperGood Co. originally began as Colorful Dog Corporation in 2017 with a mission to advocate for the fair treatment of animals around the world. My wife, Kristen, and I started the organization while planning our wedding because we wanted to use our wedding as a way to get initial donations for the organization. Instead of gifts, we requested that donations be made to the newly founded nonprofit. While these donations were greatly appreciated and distributed to like-minded nonprofits, we quickly felt the need to better define our goals and how we could improve the lives of animals in areas that weren’t already being addressed by other nonprofits.
It took countless hours and several years behind the scenes, coming up with different ideas, testing different services, and more. These ranged from universal pet adoption applications to fundraising services that could be used for pet-related organizations. Throughout the years of working on finding the right service to have the best impact, we continued to encounter animals in need along the way. Whether it was a rabbit stuck in a septic system, a possum hit and neglected on the highway, or a goose with a broken wing — it suddenly hit us that our passion was wildlife. While Colorful Dog was created to help all animals in need, wildlife became something we felt we could work on directly. Wildlife is also an area that lacks funding and support, especially as wildlife habitats continue to be destroyed for subdivisions in cities and even in once-rural areas around the globe.
While our passion was clear, the way to raise money to support the idea was not. The problem with traditional fundraising is that it is competitive with other organizations that have similar goals. We didn’t want to do anything that would reduce support for other pro-animal causes. So we decided to find a way to raise money without competing and, hopefully, instead, find ways to bring additional money into the space.
With your help, we can do SuperGood for the animals who need us. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
